Chasing Light: Noctilux Sessions

A Leica Store Manchester Workshop

There are lenses, and then there is Noctilux. Designed to capture light in a way few lenses can, the Noctilux has become legendary for its speed, depth, character and unmistakable rendering.

Chasing Light: Noctilux Sessions is a one-day immersive workshop exploring the heritage, technique and creative potential of Leica’s most iconic fast lenses. Through a blend of discussion, demonstration and guided shooting in Manchester city centre, this workshop is designed for photographers who want to better understand how to use Noctilux lenses with confidence and intention.

Led by Milan Swolfs

This workshop is led by Milan Swolfs, a Leica photographer and fine art portrait artist from Antwerp, known for his distinctive style inspired by Hollywood’s golden era.

A Leica ambassador who has exclusively used Leica cameras since 2006, Milan has collaborated with Leica Camera AG on key lens launches including the Thambar 90mm f/2.2, Noctilux 50mm f/1.2 and Steel Rim 35mm f/1.4.

His work has been published in LFI, Medium Format Magazine and Viewfinder, and exhibited internationally, including at Leica Store Paris. His approach brings a unique perspective on light, character and timeless image-making.
